A little about me
Hi Everyone!
My name is Eni.
I have been a dental technician since 2014. I am originally from Hungary, deciding to move to England in September 2014 to further my career.
Originally, it was my sister who had advised me to become a Dental Technician. So when I finished high school, I was so happy that I had chosen this fantastic career.
For me, this is not just a profession, but it also allows me to combine my artistic skills with science and technology, but it is also a career that also requires a great deal of humility.
My work
In my first two years at college, it was very much a focus on metal-free restorations and techniques. I also learned about using CAD/CAM with ZirkonZhan. As well as learning about crown and bridge I was also learning about basic prosthetic work, making monomer free partial dentures bite raising appliances and night guards in many cases using an injection system.
For my last year at college, I had decided to change the laboratory to help further my career where I began learning more in-depth the fundamentals of prosthetics, how to set teeth up with the view to achieving the very best aesthetics. I was so lucky to have such a fantastic teacher and mentor as József Traum, to whom I am so very grateful. He had taught me so well that I felt confident enough to enter a Prosthetic based competition, focusing on aesthetic denture set-ups where I was placed 6th overall out of 40 highly skilled technicians.
A new chapter
A new chapter in my life began when I moved to the UK looking for new opportunities, settling in Brighton. I love it! It’s such an exciting city and I feel so lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing people.
I joined CDL in March 2019 and I became part of an incredible team. There are so many different individuals each with their own unique set of skills, which for me is what makes the CDL team so strong. At first, I found the work very challenging, but there is always something new to be learned and it was the challenge that drove me to make the move in the first place. Needless to say, my days are never boring!
It’s not just about making teeth. In my day to day work, I think it’s fantastic that I am also able to add to the company’s brand by writing case studies or representing the team at various dental events. I feel that working at CDL is a great opportunity in my journey to becoming a ‘top’ technician.
My hobbies
Outside of my professional life, I am a very sporty person. If it’s winter I am always ready to go skiing or snowboarding and if it’s summer, then there is nothing better for me than being on a Greek island somewhere collecting some shells while snorkeling…I can picture it now…
I have a great passion for basketball, having spent most of my summers growing up playing it in the park with friends. Nowadays, I get rid of my stress with Muay Thai Boxing. Kicking and punching at the Kenshiro Muay Thai gym at the end of a busy day is just the best thing ever! Taking part in Muay-Thai boxing makes me feel like I have super-powers. The Gym I attend has such great coaches and everyone there is so willing to help each other.
My other favorite pastime is to relax outdoors getting lost in nature.
Traveling is never a waste of money for me. One of my most enjoyable trips was when I visited Iceland. Having the chance to see the Aurora Borealis, glaciers, the diamond beach and all of Iceland’s famous miracles, it was magical.
I do hope to get the chance to go back there and to have a go at some glacier cave hikes. But until then I can’t wait for my next adventure!
