Working for a private well-established laboratory and also having a generous and compassionate boss like Jon Dolding has allowed me to follow one of my passions – charity work. I got in touch with Andrea, one of the founding members of Den-Tech a few years ago to see if there was any way that we could help.
In short, Den-Tech is a charity that connects technicians and dental charities together to see how they can help people in need. Andrea, myself, and Christina, a dentist from Peninsula Dental Group, have spent the last 18 months devising a plan for us to get involved. This is a charity that I hold very close to my heart. They provide care for homeless people, recovering addicts, and women who have suffered domestic violence. To help give someone the confidence to smile again is priceless and I truly believe that everyone deserves the right to smile. It really can be life-changing.

“Our first case is finished and fitted, with one very happy patient. Thank you very much for all your help, it has been a joy to receive the ceramic designs lab work at each stage. We have several new cases started and many new patients booked so I’m really excited about our partnership.

“I don’t like going out and talking to people with missing front teeth ’cause people think “There goes that junkie”.
Which was true before, but I don’t want that for me anymore.
I want to move forward and make something of my life, I want to go to college.
Having teeth again will be the start of that.”

Just e-mailing to say a huge thank you to the CDL team on behalf of patient TK 3037908 who you made a partial
lower on express turnaround for. I have just fitted the denture and it dropped straight in with no adjustment
needed. This has made a huge difference to this patient who has experienced awful domestic violence. It is the first
time she has had lower teeth and been able to smile in over 10 years. As a result she is going to attend a family event
for the first time in a long time, she was a very happy lady today :).
